A community mural is coming to Tompkins Ave.
Tompkins Ave Community Mural
We are grateful and excited to announce that this spring, TBA will be leading our first community-driven public art project to bring a large-scale mural to the corner of Jefferson Ave and Tompkins Ave!
Through collaboration with local artists and in partnership with the property owner, we are transforming a blank wall into a shared visual landmark in the heart of Tompkins Ave.
This project truly is more than just a mural.
In a neighborhood experiencing rapid change, we believe public art can serve as a reflection point; a way to honor the people, stories, culture, and everyday moments that have shaped Tompkins Ave and Bedstuy as a whole across generations.
This mural is intended to spark connection, conversation, memory, and imagination. It’s about preserving spirit while also creating space to think deeply about the future we want for this community.
We hope this wall becomes more than something people pass by, but becomes a place where neighbors gather, stories are exchanged, conversations are had, and community continues to be built in real time.
Supporting this project means supporting local artists, cultural storytelling, and a living vision for Bedstuy rooted in creativity, care, and collective memory.
We are currently raising funds to bring this mural to life and invite the community to be part of the process.

Want to get involved?
We’re planning to host community paint days and would love for neighbors to participate! We’re also looking for support with documenting the process; photography, video, and other creative contributions, as well as any additional skills that could help along the way.
If you’re interested in volunteering or collaborating, we’d love to connect.
